After years of trying, a dear and treasured friend finally taught me to crochet. There was only one problem, after a few lessons (including some difficulty figuring out how to make squares and not triangles while cussing frequently and making everything so tight that a teeny weenie flea could not squeeze through my stitches), I was hooked!
But that meant I had a love of yarn. So soft, so many colors, so many gauges, so many textures, and so many choices! I have balls … of yarn! Oh, the yarns I can weave!
That meant I needed the various hooks. Small, large, arthritic handles, bamboo, metal, oh my!
Lastly, there are the projects. Even though I only knew single crochet for years, I could make bags with buttons, bags with cinches, washcloths, scarves, and even cat toys, oh boy!
Where am I going with this? Well, when it comes to gifts, you’ll never guess what you’re getting! Just be assured that it’s been made with a hook and yarn. I’m a happy hooker!
